CBSE Board Exams Retest - A Total Failure Of The Indian Examination System

Hey Shouters

Board exams played a crucial part in all of our lives. Where we belong to today, may be is the consequence of how we performed in our Board exams. Students start preparing for their exams months or even years before the exam takes place. After incessant and dedicated hours of hard work, they finally give and finish off their exams, good or bad, but they finish off with it and the enormous amount of pressure and trauma that comes with it. Now, imagine you wake up in the morning to a news that you need to give one of your papers again. How are you supposed to feel about it?

CBSE has declared a retest for the subject Economics for students who appeared in Class 12 boards and a retest for Math for students who appeared in Class 10 Boards.

This News took the whole nation by a shock as no one was expecting this. The papers had been leaked and in order to make the whole process of evaluation fair to all the students, this decision was taken by the Central Board. But the consequence of taking such a drastic decision which could affect the future of such a huge number of students has led to the development of a cloud of trauma and fear and most importantly, a feeling of anger and protest against the Central Board of Education in India.

Even though the decision has been taken “For the Students”, but in reality it has become a nightmare for them. It's unfair on all the grounds. While the number of students who might have benefited them due to paper leaking are may be in hundreds but the number of students who are badly affected by the decision are definitely in lakhs. The decision is against the very essence of the exam as the students who had worked day and night and had given a wonderful exam will also have to reappear and their exams might not go that well this time. Also the students, who couldn't perform well in the exams, get another chance to perform which is definitely unfair to the former.
Imagine the condition of those students who after months of hard labor, have already left for a vacation trip to get some refreshment and they get to know that they need to give an exam again!

The fault lies with the Central Board if a paper gets leaked and not the students. The importance of the Board Exams is known to all of us and an incident like this is really tragic. It has undermined all the efforts put in by the students. The decision taken by the board needs to be thought over otherwise it may lead to drastic consequences. A country’s future lies within the hands of the students who promise to develop and run our country and hence it’s the primary duty of the Government to take care of all the interests and needs of the Student Community of its country.
